Why file a complaint?
Why file a complaint?
To improve the quality of health care and services.
This is a frequently asked question. Many people feel powerless before our healthcare system. Why using the complaint examination process? It is the proper step to improve the quality of care and services, prevent and correct errors, understand a situation, and sometimes remind professionals about the best practices. Filing a complaint is a responsability of every citizen who deserves to be encouraged, because his rights take on their full importance once enforced. It’s a win-win situation! The complaint process is not a “punitive” process, but a “corrective” one. If you want to take legal action, you will need to get a legal advise because the CAAP is not mandated to assist you with legal procedures. Network professionals and practices may seem untouchable because users are afraid of being judged or facing retaliation. But system stakeholders work for the users and have a legal responsibility to be impartial.
Just remember you can ask to the CAAP for help with the complaint process at any time.
